Do you need an editor?

Everyone needs an editor.

I’ve been turning drafts into finished writing for more than 20 years now, and I can help.

If you want to see some of my editing, you can read anything published before 30 June 2021 at NPS MedicineWise, where I was Digital Editor from 2015 to 2021. Working with medical writers, epidemiologists, pharmacists and clinicians, I had to tackle a whole new subject area, and I found how useful it is to ask layperson’s questions, when you are working with experts. Sometimes, they even appreciate it too.

Or you could read any of the papers, books, reports and blogposts published by Step Two Designs, for whom I’ve worked for nearly 2 decades. They do great work helping organisations with their intranets and digital workplaces, including giving annual Awards for the best innovations in the field.

Alternatively, you could look at content published before December 2012 at the Dictionary of Sydney I  edited all 600+ articles, and all the descriptions, captions and other text. It was the best job in the world, on a groundbreaking project, sadly hobbled by lack of funding, but still alive, under the care of the brilliant Linda Brainwood and the State Library of NSW.

Or you could read any issue of Sydney Journal published between 2009 and 2012. I edited those too.

If you want to see my writing, you can read my posts at Looking Up, the blog I wrote for the Dictionary of Sydney between 2010 and 2012. Or you could look up my PhD thesis, now available online here.

My rates are reasonable, and I provide a detailed report as well as an edited version of your original with all changes tracked.

I worked for 3 years (2012-15) as a web analytics and SEO consultant at Panalysis Pty Ltd, so I can help you get the most out of your website as well.
